When is treatment recommended?
If your facial skin is predominantly flexible and not too loose, or where your skin begins to show wrinkling, then the following procedures of wrinkle treatment can often produce spectacular results. However, extremely loose facial skin can only be restored by a lifting operation.

The different procedures
The causes and degrees of the signs of ageing are varied. For this reason, a thorough and detailed consultation in which the applicable procedures are explained to you is extremely important.

Injection with different substances
If, despite a taut skin complexion, wrinkles have appeared due to an overworking of the facial muscles (in particular in the mouth, cheek or forehead areas), injections are only possible using absorbable substances. In our clinic, we only use materials which posses almost no allergic elements and despite their synthetic production do not transfer pathogens. We also use these substances to enlarge the lips.

Injections using one’s own fat
Another possibility of replenishing wrinkles is an injection with one’s own fat. With this technique, larger surfaces, like the cheeks, lips, or chin can be adjusted. As an example, the fatty tissue will be taken from the buttocks, back or stomach, reconditioned and injected with a special needle into the problem area.

Treatment with toxin
By injecting toxins into the forehead and around the eyes, the movements of the muscles will be reduced, leading to an almost complete disappearance of all wrinkles. The effects of this muscle paralysis effect are temporary (approx. 4-10 months).

Chances of success
A correct dosage can lead to very good results. When using absorbable substances the effects are visible for approximately 4-12 months. After this, they must be re-injected.

Non-absorbable substances take many years to break down and leave the body. A further injection is very rarely necessary.

After the implantation of one’s own fat, the cells that have successfully connected to the blood vessels (approx. 40-60%) will remain forever. A subsequent treatment should naturally be assumed.

The operation
On the chosen date, the relevant areas will be disinfected, anaesthetised and injected. After just 30-45 minutes, you will be able to leave the hospital. Only an injection with your own fat, which is possible to perform under both local and general anaesthetic, can be classed as a surgical operation. This also depends on the duration of your stay in hospital. Every now and then, a reddening of the skin will appear and then slowly disappear. In every case, one must reckon with the swelling lasting for between 6-36 hours. Cooling packs help to accelerate the reduction of the swelling.
