The title pages of our pictorials are graced by mostly "perfect" bodies and beautiful faces. The "beauty" of such a face is not absolute, but is a result of the subjective feeling of the person in regard. A well-proportioned or shapely face however, has typical characteristics. From the "art of face reading” (approximately 3500 years old) we know that a large and full mouth typifies sensuality, sociability and not least eroticism, whereas small and narrow lips are frequently connected not only with willpower but also with egotism.

Because many people connect full lips with an attractive face, many women desire bigger, fuller lips.

The different procedures of lip enlargement

INJECTION
The transition from pale lips to deep red ones can be well-emphasized and contoured by the injection of absorbable or permanent wadding, which in turn can correct the small wrinkles, which are easier to see in pale lips. By using this procedure, a clear improvement in the colouring of the lips can be achieved. We favour a procedure, whereby your mouth shows a natural, even sensual form after the treatment. We aim to avoid over-correction, a problem one can sometimes see with media personalities.

Despite their synthetic production, we only use such materials in our hospital, which have almost no allergic components and are unable to transmit diseases.

REPLENISHMENT WITH ONE'S OWN FAT
Also suitable for replenishing the lips is using the body’s own fat. The fatty tissue is taken for example, from the buttocks, back or stomach and injected via a special needle into the area where they will remain for ever. The rate of absorption of transplanted fat varies between 30 and 70%. In most cases, more than one session is necessary.

SKIN-GRAFTING
Specially prepared skin can be taken from the buttocks and via extremely small incisions transplanted into the lips. A moderate or large enlargement can be achieved depending on the patient’s desires.

IMPLANTATION OF PLASTIC STITCHING
Enlargement of the lips can also be achieved by using non-absorbable plastic stitching.

The operation
If you plan to fill the lips, you can have the surgery as an out-patient. The treatment takes only few minutes and is performed under local anaesthetic.

The transplantation of your own fat and the grafting of skin both require a short stay in hospital. The operation will be performed under either local or general anaesthetic.

Surgery-specific risks
Reddening and swelling will subside within a few days, while inflammations and healing disorders are extremely rare. Because of the materials we use, allergic reactions can be almost discounted. Minimal asymmetries are conditional on the swelling and can be corrected in a short secondary session.
